Where the casino is

Bear Claw Casino & Hotel stands on Highway 9, on White Bear First Nations, north of the town of Carlyle. The site is in the Moose Mountains of southeast Saskatchewan. In a straight line, it is 14 km from Carlyle. That is a line on a map, so the road is longer.

Mail goes to Box 1210, Carlyle SK S0C 0R0. Parking is at no charge, and the casino says there is plenty of it. The casino phone is 306-577-4577.

The towns around it

On the Highway 9 desk's map, three towns fall inside 25 km of the casino, measured as direct lines. Carlyle is 14 km south, Arcola 20 km to the southwest, Wawota 25 km to the northeast. The second ring opens at 45 km: Kipling 45 km northwest, Redvers 48 km southeast, Stoughton 54 km west. Oxbow lies 60 km south, and Moosomin 62 km northeast.

The cities lie farther off. Estevan is 85 km southwest and Weyburn 113 km west. Regina is 182 km to the northwest, and Moose Jaw 242 km to the west. The line to Saskatoon runs 404 km northwest. All these figures join two map points directly, so the drive on real roads is longer.

Moose Mountain and nearby

Six places near the casino are reached by car. Moose Mountain Provincial Park and Cannington Manor Provincial Historic Park are two of them. The Red Market Barn and Sask Aquatic Adventures are also on that list. For golf, there are White Bear Lake Golf Course and Golf Kenosee. This page does not give distances to them, only to towns.

The Moose Mountain area has poplar and birch trees and rolling hills. Its trails are used for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. The area also offers camping, boating, swimming, tennis and golf. Check each place's own hours before setting out.

There are no reservations, spots are taken in order of arrival, and six offer 110V electric hookups. A stay can run any length, provided guests are at their campsite every evening. Tents are fine on the grassy patches, open fires are not, and alcohol must remain inside the RV.
