Where to get help
- Dial 1-800-306-6789 to reach the Saskatchewan Problem Gambling Helpline, free and confidential. A trained counsellor is on the other end 24 hours a day.
- Through SIGA Voluntary Self-Exclusion, a person picks a ban length of 6 months up to 5 years and is then refused entry at all nine Saskatchewan casinos. To start, the person asks at a SIGA casino of their choice, or books a visit with the Saskatoon Central Office of SIGA; enrolling somebody else is not possible.
- Game Break is SaskGaming's voluntary self-exclusion, and it keeps a person out of every Saskatchewan casino for a span of 6 months up to 5 years. It reaches PlayNow.com too.
- SIGA's list of First Nations treatment centres for gambling includes one in Fort Qu'Appelle: File Hills Qu'Appelle's White Raven Healing Centre. Its toll-free line is 1-866-748-8922.
Setting a limit before the drive
Before the drive out, decide how much money and how much time to spend. Keep to both numbers once inside, and leave when either one runs out. A room at the hotel is a reason to rest after the drive, not a reason to play longer. Gambling at a SIGA casino is for people 19 and older. Under SIGA's rules, anyone younger cannot be paid winnings.
About the Highway 9 desk
Every page of Carlyle Casino Trip is signed by the Highway 9 desk, a shared name for the guide and not for any individual. Bylines naming a person are absent throughout, and no author is identified by name.
The Highway 9 desk checked the facts on October 12, 2026, using bearclawcasino.ca and SIGA's page for the casino. For the province, it relied on Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan, SaskGaming and the Government of Saskatchewan. Each distance is a direct line between two OpenStreetMap points, not a road distance.
Carlyle Casino Trip has no forms, comment boxes or reader accounts. The colour theme a reader picks stays in the browser tab. A visit counter notes each page opened, without cookies. A statistics service also receives the visitor's IP address and browser details.
The scenes with the young woman are AI-generated illustrations. The restaurant, hotel room, lobby and casino front in them are drawn after real photographs of Bear Claw; the lake and roadside scenes are imagined. She is an invented character: nobody posed for her, she does not work at Bear Claw and she does not write the guide. The site carries one photograph, of the building, by Masterhatch, CC BY-SA 4.0, via Wikimedia Commons. The drawing of the casino front was made from it.

Changes: redrawn as an illustration in evening light, the parking lot drawn as lawn and a sidewalk, the guide's character added. The drawing is shared under CC BY-SA 4.0 as well.
Quick answers
Is the helpline open at night?
Yes, the Saskatchewan Problem Gambling Helpline never closes: 1-800-306-6789 answers 24 hours a day. Its trained counsellors help for free, and whatever a caller shares stays confidential.
How long can self-exclusion last?
A person enrolling in SIGA Voluntary Self-Exclusion chooses how long it lasts, from a minimum of 6 months to a maximum of 5 years. It bars entry at all nine Saskatchewan casinos, and no one may enrol another person.
Who writes this guide?
Carlyle Casino Trip publishes every page under a single shared signature, the Highway 9 desk. No writer gets a personal credit on any page, and no author's name appears on the site.
